The practical test will prove that your driving skills are good enough to drive safely, consistently well, confidently and without help or guidance. It will show that you can drive to the standard required by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.

As your driving instructor, I will advise you as to when I think you have reached that standard, so there would be no point in booking a test before this time no matter how well you think you can drive, as you may be wasting money. I can however assure you that I won’t “string you along”. As soon as I think that you’re ready, I will tell you. I will also explain to you in detail every aspect of a practical driving test so I will guarantee that you get no nasty surprises.

You will need to take the practical test within two years of passing your theory test. After this your theory test certificate will expire. The current cost of a practical test is £62.00 or if you want to take your test at the weekend or on a bank holiday it will cost £75.00. You can book by clicking the link below which will take you to the official GOV.UK website. You may also be able to change the date of your test via this website.
